"With solid grooves under their belt, SUB-TRIBE are marking out an unprecedented take on dub-fusion." - Luke Saunders (Happy Mag TV)
2019 saw the release of their debut single 'Next Phase' a SUB-TRIBE signature sound of deep rolling bass and punching groove. Wasting no time, the boys headed straight back into the studio emerging with their second single ‘Who’s That’ a smooth, summer vibe, in a lover’s rock fashion. The following tour then set the scene for their third single of 2019, after a tour-van-jam dedicated to Bob Marley went viral. The result was "Tribute" a single dedicated to the king of reggae. The song was accompanied by the bands' first music video.
May, 2020 saw the release of SUB-TRIBE’s first EP. The long awaited five-track compilation showcased their formulaic elements of ‘Dub-Fusion’ crossing groove genres with sub-bass conviction and melodic verse that soars. The band quickly followed this up with a dub version of the EP. "SUB-DUBS" featured remixes from dub heavyweights such as the 420' Sound and Lotek (UK).
2021 -2022 saw the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic shake the music industry across the world. Although events slowed down, The band worked through the struggle and came out with two more singles. "Lockdown Healing" an 80s inspired synth heavy dub track with an uplifting message of hope and optimism for all those affected by the pandemic. "GVT2ME" followed in the later months of 2022. A dance floor classic and a nod to dancehall and reggaeton culture with a bass heavy twist the band are known for.
The band also got to perform on some of Australia's bigger roots music festivals in 2022 including, Womadelaide & Good Love Festival. They went on to headline two of Queenslands bigger reggae festivals in Kuranda Roots & Island Vibes. 2023 is set to continue the festival momentum as SUB-TRIBE are set to play Jammin Festival in February alongside the ranks of J Boog, Fiji and reggae royalty Steel Pulse and the OG Wailers.
